This is absolutely true about the breast milk!  I'm not really huge on natural remedies, but I've used this and it absolutely works very quickly.  My very mainstream doctor even agreed it was smart!

As for going to the doctor, well, there are 2 forms of pink eye:  viral and bacterial.  Naturally, the viral one just goes away on its own, but the bacterial one often needs antibiotic eye drops to get rid of it.  The problem is it's hard to know which kind a person has and often even if it is the viral kind, because the eye is full of yucky stuff and itchy and uncomfortable, people have a tendency to rub their eyes a lot which can lead to infection anyway (hands are dirty) so then you need the antibiotic anyway.

Yes. Unless you have breastmilk handy. ;) haha

Pink eye requires an anti biotic. I have no personal experience with breast milk, but I've heard it can cure pink eye too. lol

no, just something I get easily like some people get colds or the flu.

Quoting arpazia:

Omg. You poor thing:( is it allergies or something.

Quoting waffa:

no problem.

there are 2 things I get at the drop of a hat; pink eye and strep throat. Trust me, I know about both of them very well.

Quoting arpazia:

Damn pink eye!

Thank you for your help:$

Quoting waffa:

yes, conjunctivitis needs prescription drops to clear it, and be sure to throw away any eye makeup you use as it will contaminate it and come back.

trust me please, no joke to spend months of it going from 1 eye to the other

not nesesarily, just keep those hands washed and any eye drop will work. Breastmilk works to clear it up too. Wash clothes and bedding constantly in hot water. My daughter had it over christmas break and it went away on its own. If your child is regurally going to school then yes you should take them to the doc

not ER worthy, but urgent care in the morning since most Dr's are closed weekends.

he will have to be out of school/daycare till next weekend though to keep him from infecting the rest of the kids, AND you should be careful at home; wash hands LOTS to keep you or anyone else in the home from getting it, highly contagious and easily transferred from surface contact like doorknobs/countertops etc.
