I think a name has finally been decided. I need some advice in what to do about last name though.
It has been a struggle to come up with a name I could actually pronounce and that I liked.
My last name is Yandell and the fathers last name is Vu. He wants the baby to have his last name and I think she should have mine since we aren't even together. I said I'd consider hyphenating but that's give her a long legal name.
Lucy An Mai Yandell-Vu
Can she just go by Lucy Yandell but still have vu on the birth certificate?
Also the father suggested dropping An and just using Lucy Mai. Which would be ok but Mai is pronounced my so "Lucy my" sounds weird...or no?
Ahhhh help. Lol.
Absolutely not. And, even if some think it is, who cares?

Not too long?
Quoting inspain:Put her full name on everything, it's really lovely.

I think Lucy an is pretty. As far as last name is concerned I'm a firm believer if dad is in the picture baby should have his last name.

I agree, and i don't think it's too long. It'll be a while before she need to learn/write it. And i've seen much longer names before. A friend of mine has like 6 middle names--it's pretty crazy.

If he said she ruined his life to heck with him I'd name her what I wanted and use your last name. Lucy an is Beautiful.
I think if you aren't together with her father I would give her your last name... I wouldn't hyphenate.
I would go with Lucy An Mai Yandell
