A couple weeks ago my Dr checked my thyroid and he Saud it was a little off....and I'm being sent to a endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid. What can I expect at the appt? I was told it would be hyperthyroidism...and have my results but have no idea what they mean :( I'm just nervous and any advice would help a lot.

they'll probably just put you on a pill, to decrease thyroid production, which regulates hormones...or he could try you on a low dose hormone too

Did they run any tests befor sending you to the specialist? I would expect them to run a full blood panel and possibly an ultrasound of your thyroid.

Did they do blood tests? What were your T3 and T4 levels?

The endo may have you do some additional tests to get more accurate info on how your thyroid is functioning and to look for nodules (hot spots/cold spots).  There is a test called a thyroid scan and uptake and then they can also do ultrasounds.
