Question about tracheoesophageal fistula or TEF

My dd was born on Jan 9th and we were immediately told that she had TEF.  We were flown to a bigger, better hosp and she had surgery the next day.  We just came home on Tues and she is doing very well so far.  I was just wondering if any of your children had this issue or if you know anyone that did.  I was kinda wanting to know what to expect later in life.  She is on Zantac now for acid reflux, but the Dr. said she won't be on that forever.  He seems to think that she will make a full recovery.

I have a friend who's little boy had that. He had surgery 2 hrs after birth (he's 3m now). He has a gtube only because he also has an extremely rare heart defect (also had open heart surgery at 5wks), but he takes most by mouth now! He tires easily so gtube stays for now (second open heart Feb 13).
