How long can I stay at 3cm dilated and 50% effaced?

The doctor told me this is what I am at..3cm and 50%effaced. I am 37 weeks.
How long can I stay this way? I have lower back pain and can barely walk and get in and out of the car. My entire pelvic area is so achy and sore. I have had some very mild braxton hicks. This is my third child.

I stayed that way for a few weeks before I had my oldest son. But that is not to say you will do the same. Are you having any contractions?

I was 4 cm and 75% effaced at 36 weeks. I went into labor 3 days before my due date. My OB said they check dilation because your labor may be short if you are super dilated, but it doesn't mean you will go into labor soon.

I was 3cm and 90% for 3 weeks :( I was finally induced.

A long time. Weeks, anyway. :) Or you could go into labor tomorrow.

A lady in my June Babies group was at 5cm for a couple days...they wouldn't admit her until she hit 6 bc she wasn't having regular contractions

hi! i wish i could say it will happen at an exact moment, but like the other ladies, i was dilated &effaced for a few days before dd made her debut! sending good wishes for easy labor!!
