I was wondering what is needed when decorating a house. I know there is paint samples and fabric. What else is needed? Its for a project for my son and little sister. Thank you in advance.

It would be for a large house.

A doll house or a large house?   You can look at floor samples - wood, carpet, linoleum , etc.   Curtains for windows if they want.

A large house. Sorry I should have added that. I'll go back and edit it.

No worries.  My answer is the same since i am guessing you starting from beginning when you mention paint.  They can add accent rugs if changing out flooring isnt an option.

The first thing you need is an idea of what you want.

I'm confused. Do you think there is a rule of some sort? You can do what you want. I personally pick a focal point like a pillow or picture and design the room around that. I have hardwood floors so i wouldn't change that. My furniture for the most part is very nice and matches the era of the home. I would not change that either. Paint and decorations is all i would do. For other people it would be more. My house is very old and had no closets. Last year my project involved putting them in all the bedrooms.
