Was this punishment too severe????

Personally I think it was but i couldn't say anything at the time  but I brought it up to him this morning for him to take under advisement.   My dd has issues with listening  and on top of that she has a habit of speaking without thinking, which really isn't a smart choice when she's talking to dad.  Last night he was on his computer and she asked if she could check something really quick on Face book.  He said yes and he let her. Her quick turned out to not be so quick. So he told her to just give him a minute to close out what he was working on then she could continue.  Apparently she said NO. I wasn't in the room but her response prompted him to ban face book for a Month and then as well as no going outside with friends for a month,  Then she got a 20 minute lecture on being considerate and how to talk to her father.   Was it to severe in your opinion?

Edited to add she's 10

One more edit-   The facebook account she uses is my account. She does not have her own account.  I let her use mine.

The fb ban wasnt too severe, nor the lecture. However, id have just restricted the rest for just the evening.

If she's old enough to have a Facebook I'd say no but the friends thing is a little much IMO.

To me 10 is too young for a Facebook but it's your kid so I would say no the punishment wasent to strong. I would have gotten worse if I told my parents no.

I let her use my facebook. It mostly gets used to talk to friends from school about homework but she does play games and occasionally chats about whatever. Yesterday it was about the game.
