Hello ladies hoping y'all can help me a little. I posted about my mil being very ill and in hospital. Well sadly she passed away Sunday night. Well what do we do now we have gotten her created and will do a memorial at another time. We are in the process of cleaning out her apartment. I know I need to cancel all her utilities. Can we use her ss disability to pay off her utilities? Do we just change her address to ours. Is there anything I am missing?

Change her mailing address to whomever is the executor of her estate.  You'll need to react to her mail as it comes in, you may not know all her creditors, etc. The attorney who will handle her estate can walk you through everything that needs to be done. They will act on the terms of her will, if she had one.

Does she have a will?
Any assets that you will be acquiring or selling?
If so then you need to contact a lawyer to handle legal requirements

There is no estate she owns nothing .

Even the distribution of her personal belongings is considered 'estate'.  And do you know for sure she owes nothing, too?
