For those of you that know anything about background checks.

I have to get a background screen on Monday for a new job. Well I lost my old Id a few months ago and decided to have them put my married name on my license. Well I have never got around to changing my name through the social security office. They called me and want me to do this background screen first thing in the morning tomorrow at the DMV so I can start orientation Tuesday. Is the different name on my social and my drivers license going to effect things? I know I need to get everything changed and will, just not before the background screen

I would just advise them that your social is under your maiden name and your Id is under your married name. It shouldn't cause problems, but you should make them aware justin case.

Just tell them you are in the process of changing your name. It takes a couple weeks for the social security office to send you a new one. You have 90 days from the start of your job to provide it. People getting married and changing names isn't new so it shouldn't cause an issue as long as you let them know you have had 2 names.
