Need a new hairstyle!

As you can see, my hair is curly. NO - I DO NOT want to straighten it, temporarily, permanently or otherwise!

Can anyone suggest a style with a little more...style?! Appropriate to my age & an active, busy mom's lifestyle. And minimal styling - I like to mousse or gel & go....

If you definitely want to keep the curl, I'd go much shorter on the back and sides, and let the top carry the height and curl.  I can't post pics, but google 'extra short curly hairstyles', exactly like that and click images, and you'll see a ton.  Sort through the obvious disasters, lol, and there are some great ones.

You don't think losing the length would make me look...how do I put this non-offensively...OK, IDK how, so I'll just say it - like a butchy lesbian?

That was one of the ones I liked.  I've always worn very short hair, so I don't know about the 'butchy-lesbian' thing, lol.  I love Halle Berry, Keira Knightly, and so many others who rock short hair and are sexy!  With minimal styling products, mousse, wax, gel, you can change the shape of a good basic cut in lots of ways.  I use BedHead wax almost every day.

Yes, but I don't have their looks! I tend to look less feminine I think with my hair shorter...but what I have now is just a mess...

That works, too.  It doesn't lose much length, but has a fresh new shape.  That is the key, the shape of the cut, it'll flatter your face better.

keep the length but have it more layered to make is more whispy then i would use a round brush on the front curls just to soften - wouldn't take more than a few minutes -- the rest you mouse and go like you are now - but it would soften the look around your face

Yeah, well, I don't have their looks either, but the third pic of you in the blue hoodie is darling.  I think you'd be surprised just shaping it up a little.  You don't have to go all crazy short at once :)
