Ds is 15 months and has been super fussy and started a low grade fever yesterday and is also stuffy. Could this be a sign of teething? He is also biting alot and I just noticed that a piece of his gum is hanging down from the top of his gums. Is this normal?

Is the gum flap where a tooth would erupt? He may have injured his gum in a fall or while chewing in a toy... Teething, runny noses , fussing and a low grade fever can all come as a package. poor little boy:( my kids used to like chewing on a wet washcloth ..the stretchy baby ones, I would tie a knot in the corner.

It looks like its where the molars would come in but I don't feel or see a tooth poking through. I called the doctor just to make sure. Waiting for them to call back

Gum tissue repairs itself pretty well, if a tooth isn't erupting.
