Yes, but not always. I was born and raised in Florida, but my mom is from New York (Long Island).

Coming from a Marylander grammar, what the hell is a "hard roll?"

Last spring we went to NYC for a long weekend. Loved it! We went to Staten Island and decided to eat lunch at a pizza place. They were slow, and were curious where we came from because they said I have a southern accent and talk slower than they do. One guy said to my SO, man I could have her talk all day to me, I love that southern drawl lol.

Granted Maryland is considered the "upper south" and I never really thought I had an accent until that experience. Now you were in OC, southern MD, and the accents are a tad stronger and way of life is a lot more relaxed and not as fast paced. More than likely they will bring out a bottle of ketchup and let you put on how much you want.

I love ketchup on my eggs. I like grits too or home fries. Grits with some butter and bacon, talk about yummie but a heart attack waiting to happen.

Quoting grammarpolice:

I do! Long Island, NY. We have the BEST egg sandwiches here in delis. When Long Islanders order breakfast it comes out kind of fast...
"twoeggsscrambledbaconcheesesaltpepperketchuponahardroll". I was so frustrated trying to order this once in a small place near Ocean City, Maryland. They couldn't understand me; I had to repeat it about four times, slowly, and even then, it was served on a HAMBURGER BUN and MINUS the KETCHUP!
