Teenage son infatuated with sports

Posted by   + Show Post
My husband and I are trying our best to keep our 15 yr old focused more on school
Than sports, this kid thinks about sports while he's eating, doing homework, when he goes to the store he can't go without the basketball after school he has to play basketball everyday. On weekends has to play football or rugby. How can I keep him focused? he graduates this year . Thanks

Which makes me wonder if he's not "ready" maturity wise to graduate.  Unfortunately from an athletic standpoint, he is missing out on 2-3 years of playing if he's good enough.  That's sad.  It's great that he likes to play and I would never discourage the exercise.  If anything, as a parent, I would be questioning the graduating at this young of an age part.

He's graduating high school at 15?

That's freshman/sophomore age here.

He's graduating at 15? Sounds like he's doing just fine
