I surprised my kids with a betta fish this afternoon. They've been begging for an aquarium, but we don't have the room for one. So a betta is the next best thing.

My 5yr old DS named him Jack.

Ugh. We surprised our girls with Bettas as a treat for being good for nana, after hubby and I spent a night in the city. Over a year later and they are still alive and the kids rarely even look at them haha.

Pretty! I love Bettas, I have had like 8 at one time... but then I had DS and now have no pets. He's enough lol.

I bought my oldest one when she turned one. She loved it. It lived for 2.5 years!! Was not expecting that. She was so sad when it died. She flushed it down the toilet and said she loved him and he was the best fish ever. Broke my heart.
