Swing set or trampoline?

I am trying to figure out which to get my son for his birthday in a week. He will be 3. Keep in mind that we live about a block and a half from a nice park (walk within 5 min) but because there are hardly any kids in the neighborhood nobody is ever there. Also he occasionally uses my neighbors trampoline. Which would you get?

If you are thinking of a large trampoline, you might want to check with your homeowner's insurance first.  Some companies will drop you if you have a trampoline.

I would go with a swing set.  They aren't as much as an "attractive nuisance".

We had the same question last month and went with the swing set! We are happy with the choice.

Swing set. Trampolines are risky.

If you have to choose, go with the swing set.  As others have said, trampolines are an insurance liability.  Also, for safety reasons, only one kid at a time is "supposed" to jump, whereas with a swingset, multiple kids can play at once.  Also, the trampoline lends itself to one activity and a swingset often has multiple activities (swing, slide, climb, etc) and can be enjoyed when a child is in a variety of moods or energy levels (can swing gently/quietly if that's the mood they are in).

Swing set.  Trampolines are too much of a liability (even if you are supervising).

Swing seems less dangerous.
