Fever at 102.6 in a 21 month old

Before anyone says it, yes we took her to the hospital.

My one year old has a fever of 102.6. We took her to the hospital earlier today and they said give her medicine which is what we've been doing but she keeps waking up in the middle of the night crying and hot. We're exhausted.

Any ways to bring a fever down or cool the baby off so she can calm down and maybe get some sleep?

Any help is appreciated.

Alternate Motrin and Tylenol, skin to skin if possible. Keep her hydrated.

As crazy as it sounds, slice an onion and put a slice on each foot and put on a pair of socks.  The onion will draw the fever down and when the fever breaks, the onion will be partially cooked.

Break an egg into a bowl and put it under her crib.........supposed to take the fever away.

You can also put alcohol (rubbing) on her pulse points and it will help.

I've tried all of them but the egg and they do work.  Some old wives tells have validity.

For some reason, this won't let me quote half the time but this is in reply to klc3ofme...........who is "they"?  Before I did the onion and alcohol, I checked with the doctor and he said it was fine to do it.  I was hesitant because it is an old wives tale.  He said a lot of the old wives tales do work while some don't.  I did the alcohol and it did bring my daughter's fever down and the onion worked as well.

Alternate with ibuprofen and Tylenol.
