Clinical Simulation today!

Ugh!

I have been in the clinical setting for a year now. Working with live patients, caring for them, giving meds, changing dressings. watching surgeries, etc.

The nursing program I am in is having a simulation with a dummy where me and a 4 other students must go in a care for this pretend person. I am so nervous about it because they havent told what it is they expect of us in this! I do think they are seeing if we pick up on stuff. Like, my client is dehydrated but no where in the chart does it say so. Also, it is ordered for O2 to be given but there is no idication of how many liters to set it at! LOL

To me, this is silly to do. I feel they should have done this the begining of first year when they were doing skill checks BEFORE we got into hospitals and clinics with actual people!

Oh well, I will live I guess! Wish me luck tho. I need those extra 20 pts!

Good luck. Our nursing student practice on dummies the entire time. They are used for exams.
