Horrible pain, can someone help me find a solution?

I started working from home as a reservation customer service agent for Uhaul. I love it. i am good at it, and it lets me stay home with my daughter. :)

But as much time as I spend on the computer, I have never spent this much time on the computer, so consistantly. (every day, most of the day)

Ive been doing this for 2 weeks now. tomorrow starts my 3rd week.

Im fat. and the fat roll that connects my chest to my gut, HURTS.

like a DEEP muscle or organ pain. it feels like my diaphram pulled a muscle! (just an example, i dont know if thats the issue lol, just to give you an idea of where)

I do have a crappy old computer chair. would a better and more comfratable chair help?

would positioning my arms at the keyboard and mouse higher or lower help?

if anyone who has worked a desk job experianced this, please let me know how to help it! it has started to hurt REALLY bad over the last 2 days!

No advice. But I want to work from home. How did you get the position?

Not sure what could help honestly. Try different places to sit if you have a laptop. I find its easier to stand and do work if i can or switching positions. Pillow behind you and under you. I get freebies and im sometimes on here for hours at a time. im not fat but 41 weeks pregnant and everything hurts. I take frequent breaks and stretch when i get up. it really helps

How many hours do you spend sitting down and how long has this been going on?

I thought i put that in the OP?

its 8 hours a day, i do get a 5-10 min break every hour (they are awesome, they have it set up knowing that most of thier at home employees are SAHMs with children.

its been going on for the last week or so, was just an ache, but over this last week end (when i was not working ironically) its gotten worse by a lot. its not unbearable though

When you get your breaks, try to do some stretches in your chest/stomach area. Reach up, bend backwards a bit. I do get abdominal muscle spasms and these help.

That's awesome! I just applied with convergys to do at home customer service. I think a comfy ergonomic chair that is the right height is an investment you MUST make!
