If you don't know how to ride the bus then don't ride it

I'm a regular bus rider and was on the city bus earlier. To get off at a stop you either press the yellow bar or pull the yellow cord depending on the bus, this was a bus where you pressed the yellow bar, well a guy presses it a block or so away from the next stop. He starts yelling at the bus driver that she missed his stop, she was slowing down to stop. I don't get why people have to be like this, you know if you ride the bus that you get off at a bus stop not just wherever. Ugh some people should just not ride the bus. Then earlier today when I was on another bus, it was a different bus driver and a lady gets off and asked the bus driver when the bus would be back, the bus driver told her 40 minutes, the buses depart the transfer plaza every 40 minutes and the bus driver told her that she'd be coming inbound in about 5 minutes and going down Congress instead of State because this route is like 2 routes in 1, every other run it goes to Green Acres and every other run it goes to Wal-Mart, I don't get why people act like they don't know how to ride a city bus, don't ride it if you don't know whats up. It made me mad because it was holding the bus up and the bus was already running late.

Do you happen to be in Austin? Because their system is confusing as fuck.

Not everyone rides a city bus on a regular basis such as yourself. Maybe their car broke down and their day is really on a crap streak. Patience dear.

I agree with everyone else. If you don't ride, you don't learn. Where I live we don't have buses. If I had to ride one, I wouldn't know either.

Whatever, I'm mad because the bus was running late and two people had to argue with the bus driver to hold it up even more.

1 mom liked this

This ... plus a lot of people don't use public transportation every day, only on rare ocassions.  Then there are people - like me - that live in the country, where there is no 'public transporation'; so when we go to the big city and need to use it, it can be very confusing!!!

You just need to cool your jets before you have a heart attack worrying over stupid stuff!

There are people who don't know. I'm sure it takes a new rider a while to learn all the ins and outs of public transportation.

Also every city is different. In my area the bus driver will pick you up and drop you off wherever you'd like along the route within  reason (as long as it's not interfering with traffic or dangerous of course).

Well if it is the first time they have had to ride one then you can't expect them to know everything. If I were to have to ride a bus I would not know exactly how it works because I have never had to ride one, therefore I would ask questions just like the 2nd lady did.

i remember my first time on the Milwaukee county buses. LOL I had a note on where I needed to stop and showed the driver. Thankfully he was really nice and taught me what to do.

Whenever I first arrived in a new city, I had to figure out the bus system and this was before computers were so available. I would look at the schedule, wait at the stop and hope I got on the right bus. fortunately there were nice patient people I could ask otherwise I could have ended up in the boonies.
