Ive got an ingrown toenail.

Hurts like a mother fucker, and its swollen.

How many of you treated this at home with out going to doctors?

I think even if id go to my doctor about it, theyll tell me to wait it out til after twins are born. Because when my husband had one they had to give him a little bit of anathesia (sp)

Did you Google any at home relief remedies? There has to be some type of way to soak it and bring the swelling down/relieve the pain.

Yeah.

Everything wants me to soak it in regular water four times a day (i dont have time for that)

And then put a cotton swab or gauze pad under the nail, but i cant find the na, just it hurts and the side is bright red and swollen.

And then antibiotic cream, that i have.

1 mom liked this
Soak in epson salt to soften, dry foot well. Use medical tape to pull the side of toe away from nail and leave it on.
A few times of doing this and you should be able to see the part of the nail that is embedded in the skin to cut it out.
Since you are pregnant you might need someone to help you with this.

Where can i find that kind of salt?

How many times do you recommend soaking it?

You can find it near the first aid stuff I think.
It will probably take 3 or 4 times depending on how bad it is.

Do you know if it is an actual ingrown nail, or did you damage the nail bed.

Taking ibuprofen might help with the pain and swelling.

Epsom salt can be found at any grocery store or Walmart... In the pharmacy/OTC section by the foot soaks, toes pads & stuff.

What about a nail salon? They can help. I would soak in epsom salts and do what crwspringer said to do. Ouch!!

Local lidocaine won't hurt the twin. Red means infected or it is about to come thought your skin. I'd go to a doc anyway. It's really late in the game for homeopathics.

Pregnant women aren't supposed to take NSAIDS of any kind
