What is considered "long"?  I always packed coloring books and small toys for dd at toddler stage.

Two days of driving. Yeah i have stuff like that but i found lots of stuff on pinterest and i love using creative ideas too. I made a little bingo game with things we will see and he'll put a sticker on the picture as we see it...and i spray painted a cookie sheet and he will have magnets to play with. Stuff like that :)

toddlers usually dont understand bingo but i love the magnet idea.  Perhaps a portable sand box that you use table sugar in or graham cracker crumbs instead of sand.

We play it where.you fill up the whole board. Ive played different versions with him since he turned two. He's a smart cookie and it builds vocabulary. :)

That sounds fun.  I still am working with my 7 yr old on bingo LOL.  She prefers monopoly.  Yours if he hasnt already would probably like connect four and it comes in travel version.

Does he have a leap pad of some sort?

I swear i live by that thing!!!!'

What about if you or dad have smart phones.

Portable dvd player.

Sing along cds.

You can play i spy (but beware hell probably change it from what he first saw lol)

You can play the letter game where he tells you that you have to find a certain sign with a certain letter....

Same goes for signs as well.
