Public school Mom's - does your child say the pledge of allegiance at their school?

Posted by   + Show Post

My DD's school does it every morning with morning announcements.

Just curious if this is extremely common or more rare these days.

They don't celebrate any holidays. I don't know a lot about their religion other than that. The majority of our community is Christian, but surprisingly they are very respectful of other religions. I graduated high school from the same district my kids are attending.

The one religion i dont understand. I dont see what being a JW has to do with saying the pledge thats about our country. Yes i know "under God" is a deal breaker. Just like i know they do not celebrate bdays, or at least the only JW i knew didnt, so dont have much to base anything on. Lol. But im glad they took the child's religion in mind and just had her stand even if she didnt participate

Yes, but they don't make all the children say it. They all have to stand though. My son had a girl in his class who was a JW so she did not have to say the pledge.

In your title Moms is plural, not possessive.

Yes, they say the pledge and have a moment of silence every morning.

They do everyday. They are forced to stand for it but not forced to say it- that's actually against federal law.

It is said during morning announcements every day right after the school pledge. The children do not have to participate though.
