I am teaching summer school right now. My class is developmentally delayed kids headed to kinder next fall. The entire program is kids with delays. Some with downs, cerebral p, cognitive disabilities, etc. all of them are going into 3rd grade or less. Imagine if you will a playground filled with about 60 kids in wheelchairs, some walking with mobility issues but all of them disabled i one way or another. A mother came on the playground with 2 large puppies (maybe 9 month old labs) she let them loose but soon noticed kids being knocked down and screaming. She couldn't get them to come back to her and by the time we the teachers caught her dogs more than a dozen kids were bleeding and crying. Who the hell lets untrained dogs jump all over disabled kids that you don't even know? Dogs shouldn't ever be on a school playground, certainly not in this situation.
My next vent is one mom was 20 minutes late picking up her disabled twins today. Really? Do you think i don't have my own kids to get home to? Twins? Aren't you at all concerned about your disabled twins?
