Can you wear any kind of jewelry?

It seems that if something isn't gold, sterling silver, or surgical steel, it causes a rash or the earrings make my ears sore. It is kind of a bummer because some of the costume jewelry is cute.

I had a sensitivity to metals that weren't *real* gold/silver as a kid. Its gotten better as I got older but can't wear it long. 14k gold or more & sterling are the only things I can wear constant still. Costume & fake still irritate me after too many hrs.

I think nickel is what bothers me. It is in most of the cheap jewelry.

No, my skin is too sensitive (maybe I have sensory issues?). I can't even wear my engagement/wedding rings 24/7.

I'm allergic to sterling silver. Which is weird because I used to wear it as a kid and never had a problem.

Some of my piercings are that way and I haven't worn jewelry in many of them for a long time because of it.  Currently I have 7 out of 12 earrings in and they're either surgical steel or plastic (my bottom lobe piercing is gauged).
