I need to find a good reason to

Have a hestoricomy. I got my tubes tied in 2008 and have had one scare since then. Dh and I 100% do not want any more children but there is still always that small chance of failure. I want to get the hestoricomy so I have no "hardware" inside of me to get pregnant with.

Have your dh get snipped and then you have doubled your protection. :-)

He is one of those men that refuses because they are his precious jewels. Lol

ETA, he just stated he is none of those guys that fears it would affect his sex drive. :-(

Dh had one last year. He says it did mess with his sex drive but not the way your dh is worried about. LOL He said sex is better when you know there isn't a risk of unexpected pregnancy. ;-)

a hysterectomy is an extreme method of B/c. it takes a toll on your body that you might not anticipate. condoms or even the rhythm method since your tubes are tied should be fine and certainly less invasive

wow a hysterectiomy to avoid preganacy... seems extreme to me. and I don't think there is a reason you could give a doctor that wouldn't be checked out before he took everything out.

Yeah this would be an extreme thing.  It would affect so many other parts of your life along with sexual part.  I just used the patch with 100% success rate.

well then i would tell him that you are too paranoid about getting pregnant to have sex.  that should get him moving.  or you can use condoms as well as your tubal.

That's why I never brought it up to my doc because I know my reason isn't good enough. It's more of dream/wish type thing.

This. I've never understood the "precious jewels" mentality. I ended up getting a tubal because it was covered under my insurance but my husband wanted to pay for his vasectomy out of pocket until I convinced him otherwise.
