My DD starts hight school next week
When my boys went they went by bus as their school was out of town in the next village
But my DD will be starting a new school
New build New staff and its been built just around the corner from us
The only thing is DD has to cross some train lines
But its only a five minute walk away

Do I walk her there Well for the first couple of weeks?

I would walk her just to the tracks and let her cross on her own.   Has she learned allt he safety rules when it comes to train tracks or trains crossing?  It would be even better if she had a friend or two to walk with her for a buddy system.

High School? No. Does she know how dangerous rail crossings are? I take it there are actual crossings and she's not just crossing train tracks.

unless she is special needs she should be able to walk around the corner.

She is in high school?  Meaning she is 14-15.....right?   Do you seriously think that at 14-15 she isn't capable of walking 5 minutes away and safely crossing train tracks?

My 11 year old rides his bike every morning to our neighbors house to help with chores, he crosses 2 railroad tracks. Are you seriously saying your daughter at 14/15 years old is not capable of crossing railroad on her own? .

How is she 11 and going into high school? I have an11 year old and he is going into 6th grade. Most high schools don't start until they are going  into  9th grade.

I would have her do trial runs this week with me stopping shorter and shorter distances as she finishes the walk to school.   I think if a child can do a complicated route to school, an 11 yr old should be able to cross tracks or walk to her school by herself.
