It depends on where you live. For us personally that would not be enough. We all have different expenses. Living of $3400 a month doesn't make you poor and needing more more the $3400 a month doesn't mean you don't budget or are frivolous with money.

My son is active duty, only 6 years away from retirement.  He's been out of the country more than in it.  Now he's in Italy.  He should be headed to Vegas in a couple of months.

Thats pretty good. I was a SAHM and we made 2000 or so, sometimes last.

I don't really have questions about your income. That would be easily livable for us. We both work full time and make less than that.

My question is where do you live...some places it's easy to live on that and others it would be nearly impossible
