If so how old after you started taking vitamin d did you start to feel better?

Thank You!

Tomorrow will make my second week of taking the weekly vit-d pill.

What symptoms did you have?

For the past 2 years I have been to so many doctors and specialist over being off balance / dizzy and all the test have always been normal and they finally have checked my Vit-D and it was 19.

I've been extremely tired, my bones hurt, and I have brain fog. I thought all of that was due to being on my feet at work a lot, after all my test kept coming back normal over feeling off balance I thought maybe I was just losing my mind :-)

Thanks for replying!

Pretty much all of that plus I had frequent charlie horses. It took me about 8 months taking 50,000 iu pill weekly to test normal

I have RA though so it may have taken me longer than most idk.

Yes.  I was diagnosed with low vitamin D about 3 yrs ago at the age of 38.  I always felt as if I was in a fog and just out of it.   I was put on the mega doses of vitamin d until my levels got to where they need to be....took about 3-4 weeks before I started to feel like myself.  Now, I take 5000 iu of vitamin d plus a multi-vitamin that has 400 iu.....so 5400 iu a day.  I also try to get natural vitamin d.  In the summer, this is not a problem at all.  In the winter I go to the tanning bed a couple of times a week for 5-7 mins.  Just enough to get a little vitamin d.  My levels have leveled out and hopefully will stay that way.   Good luck.

I go back in two months to get rechecked. I am having to take 50,000 units once a week for the two months.

I am only 29 years old. I just can't wait to feel "normal" again!

I was on the same amount for three months then my levels were good. My doctor said that i was really low and have been for a while. I am now on a daily 1,000 units and I feel a lot better.

give the pill a little help ... spend at least 15 to 30 minutes in the sun each day with no sunscreen...

I have it- every year I have to take 50,000IU a week of Vit D for 3 months. I usuallu feel better after a couple weeks to a month.

My VitD level is usually around 8-13 when they test it. Now I take 1,000IU a day

I am sorry so many of you have to deal with this, but at the same time it feels nice to know that I am not alone and that I will feel better soon. It's been two years, so I'm sure I can last a few more months :-)
