Is it tacky to put your kids in used clothes?

Posted by   + Show Post

I overheard these women in the carpool lane at the kids' school badmouthing a child there. They didn't say the child's name (and the kids weren't out of class yet to hear) but said, "That poor girl is always wearing used clothes and it's just so tacky!"

Do you agree that used clothes are tacky, or do you think these moms are just weird/rude?

Then guess I'm tacky. Most of Yds's clothes are hand-me-downs from ODS. Lol.

About 75% of my kids clothes are used. It saves us a ton! And how can anyone tell? The used clothes my kids wear are nice. Not like they run around in clothes that are all stained up with holes all over!

Technically once you wear clothes a second time they are used.

The only women I have ever met who think sharing kids clothing is tacky were the one's who were in the least postion to be buying new.

I would just walk up to them and say "Excuse me - if you think wearing used clothes is tacky then go ahead and throw your money down the drain and throw those clothes out instead of clothing a child in need." Its their loss for pissing their money down the drain instead of donating item

Dumb ass snobs. Kids outgrow clothes so fast, who the fuck buys them all new wardrobes every times they outgrow the old ones? My girls get nice hand me downs from friends and I'll maybe buy them a nice new outfit or two every season.
