Would you rather be rich and never find true love or be poor and find true love?

Would you rather be rich and never find true love or be poor and find true love?

I think this is a tough one because it would be sad to never find true love but it wouldbe hard to live poor even with true love.  I don't know if I'd be able to appreciate true love if I was very poor and struggling.

 poor and know love.

money might make some aspects of life easier but it doesnt not mean happiness.

But love may not last forever and being poor can be very hard...

I've never had money to spare so I know no different.

There are always ways to cut back & manage money better...

If rather be in love for how ever long it lasts. Love is more important to me than money. Any day

And you said true love...

I assume that true love isn't a passing thing.

Eh, I'd go for the money.  After my last relationship ended, I haven't been interested in being with anyone so I may as well have the money!

 LOL!!  Good point!

Did you think your last relationship was 'true love' at any point?

I don't know - does true love always last forever?  Would someone you're truly in love with and who's truly in live with you ever let you down - and cheat on you?  Possibly...

I think it depends on a lot of things:

1) Find true love and then what? A successful relationship takes a lot more than just true love.

2) How poor is poor? If we're talking, like, lower middle-class (which some people would call "poor"), then that's one thing. If we're talking abject poverty, that's very different.

3) I may get slammed for saying this, but does not finding "true love" preclude a happy marriage? I think you can have a marriage that's generally happy and successful, even if you're not sure that what you have is "true love". Or love can develop over time.

Oh I absolutely thought he was my "one true love".  We were on and off and on again for 15 years.  He isn't the father of my son, that is my ex-husband.  But we both seemed to think that we were just destined to be together, and to our credit life did seem to throw us in each others faces a lot.  And after years of struggling to find time and physically be together, careers thrown away, a miscarriage, thousands upon thousands spent on travel, and FINALLY living in the same place, he broke up with me 2 days after my good friend committed suicide.  I knew it was because there was someone else, I know him too well.  And he did just get married to a mail order bride a few weeks after the last time I told him I didn't want to exchange certain types of emails.
