  • I have been struggling with infertility for the past 8 months.  I am 36, a newlywed and desperately hoping to have a family.  Through a routine checkup my doctor saw that I had a misshapen uterus.  Given my age I decided not to waste any precious time and make an appointment with a fertility specialist.  After two months of testing I found out that I was born with one ovary and Fallopian tube.  Luckily they function but I do not ovulate properly.  I just had surgery Friday to fix my uterus and am still recovering.  I am eagerly awaiting next steps.  So eager in fact, I was drilling my doctor under the influence of anesthesia as to what was going to happen next.
  • Throughout this process I have also sought out the aid of a holistic doctor.  He suggested that I start taking 19 herbal supplements to help with my asthma and my ovulation issues.  He also stated that if I tried to conceive in my current state that I would most definitely have a child with colic, learning disorders or allergies.
  • So, my question remains...who do I believe? My husband refuses to accept the holistic practitioner but I do believe he was onto something.   Do I need to take 19 herbal supplements instead of fertility drugs?? That is still undecided...

Due to the large amount of supplements, I would see what the results of the surgery are.  Welcome to the group!!  Good luck with TTC!!

Sorry, I'm not at all familiar with either situation, but check out this group, they might have answers for you. Good luck.

I would be concerned about taking 19 herbal medicines and how they would effect my body. My advice would be to see how the surgery goes and research what the doctors want you to take as well as the side effects and effectiveness of the herbs. I wish you lots of luck and hope you get pregnant soon.

Hi your post caught my attention BC I grew up in Middletown, NJ! I'm a very natural minded person, but I'd be very skeptical of that holistic Dr. What on earth would cause your baby to be colic if you conceived now?

I didn't ovulate and I used nutritional supplement called reliv. It has lots of different ingredients, but the top food scientist in the world helped develop it. I've toured their factory and was very impressed with the high quality. It's sold through independent distributors, but seriously is an amazing product. I used it to help me conceive and use it as a prenatal. I don't sell it, even though it probably sounds like I do lol. Anyway try looking it up. It's balanced as a food and works. My 5 year old has asthma and she doesn't need any medication, I believe BC of these products.

Good luck and baby dust!
