I need money saving tips for Vegas!

We are going with my husband's family (including aunts, uncles, cousins, mom and dad, sister, etc.) to Vegas during the week of Christmas. We are a family of 6- my husband and I, and our kids who are 12, 11, 10, and 3. We are doing "okay" financially, but not going to lie- things are going to be a bit tight for the trip.

Does anyone know of any money saving tips? Maybe some way to not pay an arm and a leg for a show, or for food? I want us to be able to have fun and enjoy the trip...

Also, any ideas for kid-friendly things in Vegas? I've been there a couple times but not with the kids.

Thanks!

never been. good luck trying to save money though. maybe since its the "whole" family you guys can get group rates for shows?? food at sit down restaurants will probably be the opposite. they usually add automatic gratuity to parties over 8 ppl. start searching online for coupons now, that wont be expired when you go.

Where are you staying?
Many hotels have kid friendly floors,
As for saviing .. eat light, share the foods . Vegas is very expensive but tons of fun :)

Most hotels (I know circus circus does for sure) have a buffet.  When we went it was like $25/person for the buffet all day, breakfast lunch and dinner.  This was a good money saving option, and there was lots to choose from!  Groupon and living social usually run pretty good deals as well!  Have fun!

If you're going to gamble, sign up for a players club card, they just get your name address, phone number, email, and I think all the casinos are free to join, even if you aren't staying there. That way, when you do gamble, you get players point, and those you can use to pay for stuff like, a meal at a resturaunt. My husband and I both ate at a buffet  one time for free because we used our players cards.

Have a set amount to gamble away. An amount you're comfortable flushing down the toilet, lol.

Circus circus is pretty kid friendly, my son LOVED playing all those games, and he loved it even more that he got prizes.

Its vegas...you really aren't going to save money, but you can have a set budget. Every kid gets $20 to spend or something like that, it'd be a good life lesson for kids too. They can choose to spend it all in one day, or savor it for something special.
