Just a pedi. His asthma is mild though.

Does he use a inhaler daily or just when needed?

Speaking of asthma we are at the ER right now due to that. My son has both a pulmonologist and a pediatrician.

No prob :)

He was only seeing his pedi at first, but she referred him to the allergist. Then the allergist referred him to the pulminologist almost a year ago.

He ended up going for a sleep study, and we found out he has sleep apnea, so they referred him to an ENT (appt in Nov) to schedule surgery to have his tonsils and adenoids taken out. We're hoping this will help with a couple of other issues we're dealing with right now too.

Just a pediatritian. Ds was diagnosed at 6 months and at 3 we finally have it TOTALLY under control. Allergies, respiratory infections, all of it. He hasn't had to use his neb in a while.

1 mom liked this

I was a kid with asthma. From 10 to 22 I saw a family doc. In my early 20s I began seeing a pulmonologist because I started having terrible flare-ups and it became obvious that my asthma was badly uncontrolled. My lungs are much happier now. Pulmonologists are much more equipped to deal with asthma and design treatment plans that are tailored to your (child's) lungs.

ETA: Pulmonologists are also usually loaded with samples of breathing meds. My insurance doesn't cover my medications and I never have to pay for meds.
