I had a custody hearing 4 weeks ago and was granted temporary custody of my niece over her mother, the judge told her to get her life together, get an attorney and come back when she did if she wanted to try and get custody.....

anyway 2 weeks later she went and contested it and we have court tomorrow again..the first hearing we brought my niece with us, I say we are suppose to bring her but my husband thinks we don't and we should leave her in school but we have never done any of this stuff before so we really just don't know...

anybody have any advice?

I dont have much advice Im afraid, when we helped my neice's father get her from my sister she was there but she wasnt in school yet and was kept out of the court with his fiance. Also when I went with my other sister neither party brought the children... so maybe that is helpful but I would wait for someone else to post with more difinitive info. Good luck though.

Too traumatic for children. Leave her in school

First of all how old and to what purpose would there be her being there. Most of the time I would say not leave her in school unless the judge says she needs to be there

I say don't bring her, it might make it harder on her.

Leave her in school. Her world has already been torn apart, she doesn't need to see it happen before her eyes.
