They are very mad that their son didn't go home for Chrimass as he is used to!!

Why didnt he ? why didnt they go to him ? Its not always about the kids going home. We just came back from traveling 1,000 miles to see our son, DIL and grand child. I wouldnt have missed Christmas with them for the world !

We decided to spend our first Chrismass together just the two of us!

     Then they need to respect his decision even if they are hurt. I would be hurt if my kids didn't want to spend Christmas with us. But I would get over it. They are adults I don't get to tell them what to do.

Surround yourself with people that add to your life not subtract from it.

It's hard when you have to start sharing or giving up holidays with family. Feelings usually get hurt at first, but then things settle down.
