I did call them she was very nasty and talked down to me kind of like the first responder on this post.

Usually if you call them and are nice about it, they'll take the fees off. I'm not sure how your bank is though, they may be dicks about it.

Quoting lilmom71:

They charged me for the beacon journal 12.00 the 69.00 check and the  131.00 check but the things is they posted it online as the check being available the 18th but there telling me that doesn't matter what it says because it actually didn't post until the 19th.

Quoting withsecond:

Why do you have the insufficient funds fee? Am I just not seeing it?

Banks are supposed to put deposits through before debits as long as the deposit is made the same day as the debits. That way you don't overdraw. They are also capped at how many overdraft charges per day they can charge you. This was all set when Bank of America lost a class action lawsuit to the tune of $384M they had to payback in unfair fees. There are some exceptions, like they don't have to clear checks right away, but your deposit slip should say when it will clear. I'd go in and get them to refund the money or lose my account, then turn off overdraft protection.

That is why I was so confused because of the way they posted it.  They didnt even have it posted insufficent funds fee when I saw it until the next day.  They didn't take it out of my available balance until the afternoon they said that is when there system updates so I had went that morning grocery shopping and took 60.00 out of the atm my available balance had said 203.00 available but when I got home and checked to see how much I had left they had a negative in my balance with no explanation.

I'd go to the bank in person and go through all statements for at least 6 months, because , I think you were hacked. By my calculations, you should have a few tousand dollars left. Unless you've omitted pages, we can't see.

Also banks always deduct payments first then post credits. Tha't why I always leave a $100-$200 dollar buffer.

I am considering filing a complaint against them.  It just really upset me because she was talking about an overdraft I had last year that they returned like they did me some big favor.  I have been banking with them for over 20 years and they just started changing the way they post things. They process the check the day before but it doesn't show up on your account until the next day with the previous days date so there is no grace period and no way to correct your mistake.

I would go in and complain its worth a shot. If you don't often do it they will probably refund your money. I got mine refunded once,

I did go in because I didn't know why my available balance was in the negative and she told me they were insufficient funds fees they just had not posted them in my transaction history yet and then told me to call the 1800 number.

1 mom liked this

I can understand you being upset.

Those Foreign ATM/POS Fee are really eating away at your money. Does your bank charge those fees even if you use their ATMs?
