You obviously wrote the check well before the deposit came through...knowing full well you didn't have the money in there to cover it yet. The check was most likely presented to the bank before the deposit there fore you did NOT have enough to cover it. ..I see it all the time. keep track of your money and don't spend money if you don't have it and don't try to play the beat the clock game and think you can write a check and hope the deposit gets in before the other person cashes it...because you will lose.

Thats just it I did have the money in there the fund were on hold and it came through the same time as the check.  But thanks for being nice about it.

Ha..good luck with Wells Fargo going under. Not gonna happen in this life time. They actually know what they're doing and most other banks copy them . They arent nearly as bad as some others becaaue at least they allow you to make deposits while your debits are still pending and won't charge a fee because they post the credit first...a few other banks won't do that. well, they will post your credit first but it doesn't matter if its pending or not..if you swipe your card and the money isnt there. too bad. And the reality is, the reason you don't use banks anymore is because YOU are too irresponsible for them and can't keep track if your money.

Quoting wiener: This is why I don't go to a bank anymore. Wells Fargo is the worst and I can't wait till the company goes under. We now bank at a credit union were we are rewarded for banking with them. We don't have ATM fees and we have something called a line of credit just in case we happen to withdrawal more then what available. And theres no fee for that. Deposits always get posted first before the debits. See credits unions are not for profit like big banks are.

who do you bank with? I used to have an account at National City/PNC. I deposited my payroll check on friday afternoon (after 5pm), got $100 back in cash. It was considered "pending transaction" until tuesday! I'm happy with my account at Chase.

They were checks by phone made ahead of time not supposed to post until a certain day.  Your assumption is the bank is being honest.  Why should a bank be able to process checks after they close but not deposits.  What is the point of having online banking if it is misleading?I feel they both posted at the same time they just chose to rearrange the account so they could charge fees.  I get what your saying about beat the clock but technically that is what they are doing.  This bank has no grace period I have been wanting to switch for awhile now it just that I have savings and checking.  I have disabled children so I have to change over all their information also. It just makes me sad because I have been with them for so long.

1 mom liked this
Umm no we left them because they would hold on to our deposits for 2 days then after our house payment went through and we overdrafted they would apply it. They have even admitted to doing it. They would also put our deposit in a different acct then in our checking so we would get screwed. Wells Fargo is evil and all about screwing people over. Every time I would call to get them to fix their mistakes they would laugh at me and say woops were sorry about that. Ever since we moved to our credit union 4 years ago we have never had one problem. I don't have to pay a fee for anything and I don't have t worry about weather they have credited any of my deposits right away.

you balance wasn't right  on 2/14// or i not reading it right. 128.83- 3.00= 125.85-125,85-3.00 122.83 122.85-3.00= should be 119, 85 then your deposits added in.

right-just because it shows- means that it is waiting to post. so the post date was the 19.

Quoting lilmom71:

They charged me for the beacon journal 12.00 the 69.00 check and the  131.00 check but the things is they posted it online as the check being available the 18th but there telling me that doesn't matter what it says because it actually didn't post until the 19th.

Quoting withsecond:

Why do you have the insufficient funds fee? Am I just not seeing it?
