Does the AGE difference really matter?

What is the age difference between you and your SO?

My brother's live-in girlfriend is 10 yrs older than him.  My grandpa thinks this is really bad and won't work out in the long run.

Do you know any couples with that big of an age difference?

Do you know any couples where the woman is much older than the man?

If so, do you see big issues in those relationships?

My DH is 10 years older than me.  It doesn't cause any huge issues for us though.  I think it might be different when the woman is older though...especially when it comes to having kids if they're interested in that.

I don't know anybody that is that much older and in a relationship.

I do think they can work out. It's not the age, as much as how they are as a couple.

She already has 2 kids and my brother has a son from a previous relationship.  I don't think they want to have more but that could change.

Everyone I know who was in a relationship with a large age gap has since broken up with the person. But there are some people that it works out well for, so I think it's really dependant on the people.

Eta: I think it also depends on the age they meet.

My Grandpa was alluding to the fact that she'll lose her sex drive and he'll still want sex. Something along those lines and not in those words. Basically, that as they get older, he'll want things that she doesn't want anymore.

That's so sweet!  How long have you been married?

My son's wife is 8 years older than he is.  I don't see any age related issues.

That's almost the same situation!  How long have you been married?
