A debate in our house this week.

A friend was recently invited to a pretty fancy, evening wedding.  At the reception she stuffed herself full of hors d'oeuvres and ended up not eating her main meal.  She ended up asking for a doggy bag.  Was this tacky?

The food was probably going to get thrown away. So why not take it home for later?

The last wedding we were at they offered doggy bags. It's just going to be thrown out anyways so why not take it home.

For me it would depend on whose wedding it was. My sister? Heck yeah I'd be taking some home. An acquaintance? No no no no.

It may seen a bit tacky but I hate waste.  She should have only eating what she could.

Yeah pretty tacky, but pretty funny to be walking around a wedding with leftovers. Most venues don't even allow people to take food out, so she lucked out.

Tacky.  It's not a restaurant.

Depends who it is, and my relation to them.

The plates at my wedding were $108 per person.  I wish everyone took a doggie bag home!  I don't think it's tacky at all.  Her plate was already paid for.
