Sinus pain (edit)

I have pain in my face which from experience I know is sinuses. I have increased my sinus medication but still feel swollen. No fever.

I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor.

Any other suggestions? I've thought of a heating pad?

Thank you all so much for the great suggestions. You are the best!

I started getting dizzy this afternoon and went to the doctor's right away, not wanting to mess with dizziness. Sinus infection, so I am taking antibiotics now. :(

Very warm wet face cloth on your face.  And drink plenty of water.  GL

I have had something like this since the beginning of Dec (when all the weather fluxuations began). It's only on the left side of my head and is in my ear too. It was worst right around Christmas and I did top doses of cold and sinus OTC meds (I have rotated through different ones) as well as taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen when I needed extra pain help. I also made my hot showers last as long as I could and slept with my head elevated. It started getting better a couple weeks ago but I still have days where even my teeth hurt and those days I stay out of the cold, use a warm compress, massage the pressure points on my head, neck and nose and just lay low until it passes. I was told by a dr there are some really strong viruses going around causing this and unless there's a fever that doesn't respond to meds or signs of an infection there's not much they can do.
