I tried to learn a second language but gave up.  The cheapest way was going to the library and they have books and tapes or CD's of different languages.  They are free and you can usually renew them over and over again because there is not a huge waiting list for them.  Tell me if this works for you!

Go to your local library.  They have audio tapes/cds and books that can help you learn and it is free! :-)

I had a co-worker that decided he wanted to learn Chinese before he had to go to China for work and he borrowed tapes from the Library.  He learned a lot to get him through and was able to hold decent conversation while he was in China for a couple weeks.

Hope that helps!
