I am just curious, i know that i have alot of friends that are married to city police officers, deputies, and state troopers and their husbands do not like them posting pics of them in uniform on line, (they look different in uniform and out of uniform) and they also don't like them advertising that they are married or dating a cop... I am wondering if yours feels the same way? I know its not because they are ashamed of being a police officer, but for security reasons they don't want to put their families life endanger with a pissed off person with whom they may have arrested. I am just curious on if your husbands feel the same way or if they just don't care if they whole world knows?
Not to start a bash fest i'm just curious.

Yes. My husband has pictures on his Myspace where his in uniform. He has since made the page private and now his thinking about deleting the thing. He is very private when it comes to his job and has even told the guys at the local convenience store to not call him officer when they greet him( this is out of uniform). Just for the concern form his safety, theirs, and ours.
Right which is very understanding. I just see pics of girls with their men and they are in unform, and even though this is for women can we honestly say that we are all women and not someone else....

I was married to a police sergeant for 15 years. Although we are no longer married, I do have a lot of respect for them. Anyway, yes he was very private. No advertising like personalized plates on the car, or t-shirts, no public telephone, and certainly NO MYSPACE! Most cops hate that site anyway because of all the pedophiles they arrest from there and my ex said they are trying to shut that thing down. A lot of crime has surfaced with that site. I have had to block it in my home because of an old man posing as a young guy trying to "meet" my daughter. Once we were in line at McDonalds and we had to leave because the person standing in front of us was someone my ex sent to jail. Many times when he arrested people they would say "I am going to follow you home and rape your wife and kidnap your children". All the more reason for him to be so private and it was fine with me. We lived an hour away from the city he worked for. He is LAPD.

We have very few pics of him in uniform and he does not have any of him in uniform on his myspace page, even though it is private. Around here the gang members use their myspace pages and search for the cops, so he is very strict about his. Also, we do not advertise him being a cop as he feels it would make us a target. If we go out in public and someone notices him because he arrested them, my son and I walk away from him and he finds us later. Plus he always has to be facing the door if we go out to eat, he will not have his back to the door.
I am not married to a police officer; my husband is. ;) I can completely understand the privacy isue. It can be scary when people threaten your family. I do not have any pictures of me in unifrom posted anywhere. I probably wouldn't have pictures of me anywhere if I lived in a bigger city with more crime. I don't really have to arrest people. It's mostly just patrol for me in the tiny little town.
