Now that I have your attention..lol
I remember when I was young, my mom used to threaten me with the whole "if you don't clean your room, I am coming in there with garbage bags and throwing your stuff away!!" For me of course, that threat was enough and my room would be sparkly clean lol.
Well today, after asking for 3 DAYS for my ds to clean his room and giving him the very same threat my mom gave me.....I had to do the do! I went in facemask (j/k) and all and put all his stuff into bags!! I didn't throw it away but I did tell him that based on his behavior and by doing things asked of him, he can "earn" his things back!
Ugh, I'm turning into my mother!!!
LOL...I think at some point or another, we all turn into our mothers. But you're nicer than me, because I wouldn't have told him that I didn't throw it away.

I did that to my kids...and I let them think I threw them away (I did it at night and hid all the garbage bags in a locked room that we don't use). As they would show some level of responsibility I slowly gave them back.

Sometimes we have to become our parents, I have in many ways, but most of the time, I'm myself.....Gotta put the foot down....I've taken things out but not thrown them away also.....but its easier when the kids aren't home.....LOL.....Because then don't know what I take out....they have stuff they don't even play with, but if they see me take it, they get mad, but if they're gone, they never miss it........I like to take the easy way out....LOL
I did that to my brother and sister. Their stuff is still in bags in the garage a year later. lol

I've done it! The first time I just put the things in the trunk of my car and let her earn them back. The second time, and this actually worked, I bagged up the things I knew she didn't play with and made her ride with me to drop off the toys at the Goodwill.

LOL, its fun.

I've done that plenty of times! Or moved all their toys into the garage, which is kinda punishment for the hubby cause that's his domain....*snicker. My mom was all pissed off cause my room was messy so what'd she do? I came home to all the crap that was on my dresser thrown onto the floor and my bed all tore up. So, my punishment was for her to make my room worse? Good call Mom, really taught me a lesson! Even then I just kinda rolled my eyes and wondered if she was over her temper tantrum.
