My hubby loves this recipe.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 cup shortening

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 3/4 cups flour

1/4 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground nutmeg

3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

1 cup raisins

1/2 cup walnuts (chopped) optional

Cream shortening, brown sugar and eggs.  Stir in milk.  Stir in the dry ingredients.  Then sttir in the oats, raisins and walnuts.  Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

Under the lid on Quaker Oats is the best cookie recipe. It's the one I always use.

The best ones I've ever had were Laura Bush's Cowboy Cookies. You can google it and thousands of links come up with the recipe. Good luck!
