I have 4 days left of my prozac script.  I don't want to stay on prozac & someone once mentioned to me a natural supplement with St John's Wart. Does anyone know what this would be? I'd like to try it...

i tried that and it didnt work, but if your on prozac DO NOT STOP TAKING WITHOUT DR'S ORDERS you may need to be weened off of that stuff. if you dont do it just right you could go wacko and suicidle or something. seriously those are some side effects.

Do not go off your Prozac without talking to your doctor.  If you'd rather go off it or find an alternative, PLEASE talk to your doctor.  There's a reason, whatever it may be, that you are on Prozac and you should be very careful about changing  your medicaiton.  The only reason I'm so adamant is because mental issues run in my family and I've seen what happens when someone just goes off medication without medical intervention.

Before you take any herbal stuff talk about it with your Doc.  I think St Johns Wort can interfere with women's health.

Also tell your Doc your want to stop, cause stopping cold turkey is not good, sometimes that can make you suicidal!

DO NOT QUIT COLD TURKEY!!! Even if you are taking something else instead, you must ween off gradually. When I weened off my meds, I started taking a mega-B complex vitamin, and an omega-3 supplement, and they help a lot. I weaned off over a matter of a couple of months, and I didn't feel the withdrawal at all.

Ok, so I talked to my doc & he wants to keep me on prozac for 1 more month and wants me see a therapist while he weens me off in 2 months!

Thanks ladies, for all the advice & input!

**hugs**
