breastfeeding pics

My (male) friend sent me this link about a bunch of moms protesting Facebook's policy against posting pictures of breastfeeding...  what do you think?   Do you consider breastfeeding pics porn?  Doesn't this kind of fall in the same category as posting pics of your kids naked (even if the intent is to be fun)?

Food for thought... I'd love to know what you think about it.

Oh, and my male friend works at the TV station that aired the story.  He used to live with us so he knows I breastfed both my boys (or at least tried to).

I'm all for breastfeeding in public and all that but I think people should at least cover up when doing it. Sorry, but I don't want to see your breast. If the women protesting Facebook don't like the rules then they shouldn't use Facebook.

i have an opinion!!

if you are looking at a mother breastfeeding to ummm get exited and people think it's porn they really need to pull their head out!. that is insane! mothers breasts were meant to feed. men have made them into other things. but that's the way it goes. some people have no clue where their brain is or should be!

I think if people don't want to see the pics then ummmmm hello don't look!  Its a natural thing anyone who gets offended well get over it!

I think it's polite to cover up when you're breast feeding. If you can't, well you can't and the baby shoudln't suffer for it but I can't think of a reason why someone couldn't. In this country it makes people uncomfortable to see 'boobies' in public so, I think it's polite to try and cover it up. I don't see pics of breast feeding moms as porn though. Jeez.

Ditto...it's your choice to look or not...I breastfed...and I posted a pic of it...but I did put the "sash" across it to let people know that it may be offensive (though I don't understand how it would be) breastfeeding is natural, and soo healthy for babies. I don't see why it shouldn't be public...

I think anyone who views it as porn has serious issues. It is a baby being fed. Some people have some serious growing up to do.

i dont think its porn but there are A LOT of pervs out there who might. i saw a very young girl bfeeding her baby in public and her boob was hanging out. there was a pervy old man looking.. no - gawking at her. she was completely unaware of this man looking at her. it was creepy.

we as mother know that boobs are for feeding babies but some people dont see it like that. they just see boobs.

People can't see your pictures on Facebook unless they're your friends.  Chances are good that if they are your friends, they've already seen you breastfeeding your child.  I put up pics of myself breastfeeding my newborn in the hospital (not because they were bf pics, but because the kid latched on and wouldn't let go.  All of her newborn pics she has a boob in her mouth), and I got an instant warning.  My profile and pics are private, so I really don't see what the big deal is.
