Question: Have you givin your child cold medicine to make them tired?
Total Votes: 32
Awhile back, I saw a post with someone giving advice to give your child childrens cold medicine while being on a plane. They said it would help the child sleep and make the airplane ride easier. Do you agree with this?
I have given them cold medicine to help them sleep when they actually have a cold. Not because I just wanted them to fall asleep. That's horrible and not to mention really unsafe I would think.
lmao!

I agree! The only thing I gave my LO on the plane was tylenol after the first lay-over. The pressuse really bothered her ears so I gave her some tylenol to help with that.

i never have. it can have the exact opposite affect on some kids. a girlfriend of mine gave her daughter Benadryl for a flight (before the FDA banned the sale of it for children) and it made her HYPER! good thing she tested it before hand.
i've flown a lot with DS and i give him a little Tylenol to help incase his ears give him any trouble, a paci or sippy cup at take off and his snuggle blankie. usually, the white noise of the plane knocks him out within an hour anyway.
