Ringworm? no bashing please

I think my son has ringworm- its a ring shaped thing that is flesh toned but raised.

I am going to call the doctors in a moment but what do they do to cure it?

Is it a cream they give?

It looks like a ring made of little bumps?

Anyone's kid have this?

Thank you!

my dd has it now ew gross. How in the world did she get that? Anyway nasty, yes they prescribe a cream. It's the same cream they give you for athletes foot. It's three times a day. Wash hands after applying. I keep hers covered because it really grosses me out.

eczema looks very similar.

all ring worm is, is a fungal infection...not worms.

it is similar to athlete's foot.

they just give you an ointment to use.

you really don't need to take him to the dr. just get some anti fungul cream and put a bandaid over it so it won't be exposed.

I would hope no one would bash you over this....

I've never dealt with ringworm *knocks on wood* but I do know a cream is what they'll give you.

I heard in science class I believe (maybe i'm wrong) that it was worm. That's why I think it's so gross.

Eczema can resemble ringworm.  The doc can use a special light to tell immediately if it is in fact ringworm.

my son got ring worm a couple years ago and they perscribed the cream that you use to treat athletes foot but it can take weeks before it starts working....i went with an older remedy and just put iodine on it 2 times a day for 3 days and it dried it up
