My 9 month old was up several times with coughing and congestion last night and at first I didn't think too much of it because he has allergies bad.  Well I checked him a few mins ago and he was running a temp.  Not really high, it was 100.6 so I called the dr to see if he could get in and they don't have any appts open this afternoon or tomorrow.  We are supposed to go out of town on friday and I'm upset they won't even try to work him in!!!

I checked his fever again around 6 last night and it was 104!  I ended up taking him to the ER and they told me he had RSV.  But I was able to get him in to see his Dr this morning and he said it's the flu! Poor guy!

He'll be okay, that's not a very hight temp.  Taking him to the Dr. when he's got a cold/flu could make him worse, being around all those kids who are sick.

Try some Vicks and a steamy bathroom to help with the congestion.

well im sorry, i have no more ideas. Your best bet i guess is to get a humidifier and saline solution for his nose and congestion. That is what we did with my son when he was sick.

What that's crazy, I've never heard of an urgent care not taking anyone under 4. Your poor baby, call the pedi back and demand they see your baby!

The doctor really can't do anything with a low grade fever, and please don't go to the ER, they won't do anything and you will be sitting there for hours with a sick cranky baby.  Try some Motrin or Tylenol for the fever, humidifier for the congestion. If it doesn't help, call the doc again tomorrow. Don't panic!

Yeah, I've given him Motrin and I'm not taking him to our ER I just want him to be seen to make sure he's ok for us to go visit my mom.  It's been a while since we've been there and we're supposed to have my DD's 3rd birthday party there so all my family can be there.  I don't want DD to miss that but I need to make sure my DS is ok first. But I will def. be calling back!
