I live in Cecil County Maryland. Our SPCA is finally under investigation for horriable acts , after 10 years of many many complaints . " The only good pitbull is a dead pitbull " was what the director of the SPCA would say , and believed. I am outraged and hearbroken , knowing my tax paying dollars is going to this torture chamber for these poor animals who just want to be loved. A friend of mines pitbull got loose from her house by running out the door while someone was coming in , instead of lettiner my friend ( the owner ) get her dog , the dog catcher raised up a hand gun and shot at her dog 6 times , hitting him 3 . There was children who were present and witnessed this act , thankfully there were no children in the woods behind the dog where the bullets were aimed. Please ladies I need ur help , our county trys to sweep all this under the rug , our paper CecilWhig.com wouldnt even publish the complaints , they actualy stand up for the SPCA. The first site is the story , and some of the complaints , I warn u there is disturbing pictures and accusations . Second site is my friends story about her pitbull. The last site is a petition site , PLEASE sign ur name if u have the time , Please ... We need to stay in the commisioner , governers ears till they do more. THE PEOPLE ACCUSED ARE STILL WORKING AND TAKING CARE OF THE REMAINING ANIMALS , THEY NEED TO BE TAKING OUT OF THERE TILL THE INVESTIGATION IS THROUGH !! Please help , our little county !!

How awful! We have a pitbull and she is the sweetest dog we have ever had. She's nicer than the half pug, half jack russell we have. Poor dogs...

It is so sad that pit bulls have such a bad name. They are truly the sweetest dogs ever! We have had a few over the years and I have loved each of them dearly.

Animals "pitbulls" are just like people. Some are nice and sweet and some are just plain assholes!
I will never understand anyones hatred towards a specific breed or race of anything.

This is horrible.If a pit bill has aggressive tendencies dont shot the dog, shot the owner for training them to be aggressive. I say this as a person who tends to get scared around the "bully" breeds. My neighbor on one side of my house has a pit bull mix that they got from the pound. My other neighbor has a pomeranian. I am more scared of the pom because she is super aggressive. The pit likes to come and lay in our front yard. Any time I am outside and she is too, she whines for me to come and pet her. She keeps her distance until you call her. The pom will charge me and my dog when we are out.
I have been bit by 2 dogs in my life. One was a peekapoo and the other was a little mutt. You just dont hear about these attacks.

- I know this may sound harsh but IN MY OPINION i have to agree. I watch court tv daily and there are so many cases of pitbul attacks. Im not saying no other breed does this , im saying the majority of them are pitbuls . ANd it doesnt matter how they are raised . They turn mean at the drop of a hat. And everytime i hear that a pitbul has mutalated a 4month old , 2 year old to death and so on i wish all state would ban this breed. Sorry no sympathy here (for the pitbuls).
